An enchanting place in the heart of a small polder between Veere and Vrouwenpolder
Welcome to Het Brummelhof, an enchanting place in the heart of a small polder in Vrouwenpolder, surrounded by the peace and beauty of a Natura 2000 area. We, Christopher and Suzanne, are the proud hosts of this unique vacation home and are happy to share our little paradise.
Het Brummelhof has existed for more than a century and breathes history. Through a winding path along the old sea dyke you arrive in a fairytale world. The old fruit orchard welcomes you immediately. While a lane of old willows stretch out beyond the path, where our free-range chickens like to nest. These chickens make their daily rounds of the yard, and our miniature white and black sheep graze contentedly in the meadow.
Note: Our white sheep Houdini is a real escape artist! She sometimes pops up unexpectedly outside the pasture, but always stays faithfully in the yard.
With the old seawall facing north, it is soon wonderful to sit outside, with no neighbors in sight. Only nature and the occasional cat basking in the sunshine will keep you company. The view of the dike, the farmlands and nature completes the atmosphere. In the background you can sometimes hear lake Veere which is literally a stone’s throw from us.
In 2020, we, Christopher and Suzanne, began refurbishing this special place. Step by step, we transformed The Brummelhof into an oasis of peace and luxury.
In 2023 we realized the barn, which now houses our beautiful vacation home. This allows us to let others enjoy the magic of this place. In 2024 we welcomed our little Björn, our cheerful mascot who, in his overalls and boots, is already helping around the yard, especially by charming everyone with his mischievous smile.
Het Brummelhof is a dream we cherish and love to share. We hope you fall in love with the peace, nature and charm of this place as much as we are. Whether you come for a romantic getaway, a stroll along the beach or a visit to events such as Concert at Sea, at Het Brummelhof your fairytale vacation begins as soon as you drive up the path.
